Saudi Arabia temporarily limits entry of arrivals from UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain

Saudi Arabia decided to temporarily restrict entry for travelers from the UAE, Kuwait and Bahrain only to King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport, and Dammam’s King Fahd International Airport, the Saudi Press Agency reported, citing an official Ministry of Interior source.

The decision came as part of the Kingdom’s efforts to combat the spread of the coronavirus.

Only commercial trucks will be allowed entry to the Kingdom through land border crossings, and the ministry of health will take all the necessary precautions at the aforementioned airports.

The procedure will also apply to Saudi citizens and expatriates in the Kingdom, traveling from the three countries, as of Saturday, March 7, at 11:55 pm.

All those who wish to come to the Kingdom using a new visa or a pre-existing valid visa from any country where there is risk of the spread of the coronavirus as determined by the Saudi health authorities is required to present a PCR lab test certificate proving that the individual is coronavirus-free.

This applies to anyone who resided in those countries within a time frame of 14 days prior to entering the Kingdom.

All airlines must ensure that the authenticity of the lab test and ensure that they were issued within 24 hours prior to the passenger boarding the plane.

The Saudi embassies in the countries referred to above shall identify specific laboratories accredited by the National Center for Disease Prevention and Control.

The humanitarian and social cases are excluded from the previous procedures, based on the data provided by the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Health.
