Saudi King Salman approved on Sunday a number of decisions taken by the Saudi Health Council (SHC), including adoption of the national plan to develop quality and patient safety in health sectors, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Under this plan, the quality and patient safety in health sectors will be developed in line with the goals of the National Transformation Plan 2020, through a tight health system that gives top priority to patients, the Secretary-General of the Council, Nahar Al-Azmi, said.
The plan aims to implement the principles of quality management and patient safety in the health sectors across the Kingdom, spread a culture of quality within health care institutions and involve them in developing and embracing this culture.
