Health ministry says no COVID mutations detected across Kingdom until now

The proactive and swift measures adopted by Saudi Arabia to curb the COVID-19 pandemic affirm the Kingdom’s commitment to deal with the health of citizens and residents as a top priority, the Ministry of Health official spokesperson, Mohammed Al-Abdulaali said during a press conference today.

 

The Kingdom has not detected any mutated COVID infection across the Kingdom until now, Al-Abdulaali added.

 

Elsewhere, Abdullah Asiri, Assistant Deputy Minister for Preventive Health, said the COVID mutations have not affected the virus ability to infect people.

 

The ministry officials denied any evidence on the rapid spread of mutated coronavirus to date.  

 

There is no change to vaccination plans, the officials noted, adding that effective vaccines will be used if there is a significant mutation.
