The Idle Lands Program announced today, June 20, the start of second phase in Makkah, Jeddah and Dammam metropolis, along with the expansion of the first phase’s scope in Makkah.

The Program said, in a tweet, that this phase includes undeveloped lands with an area of 10,000 square meters (sqm) or more, within the specified range, and developed lands of at least 10,000 sqm.

Landowners having a collective 10,000 sqm of developed land areas under one approved plan are also covered by the second phase.

The Program called on landowners to take the initiative to register their lands through the electronic portal, within the specified six-month period.

Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing Majid Al-Hogail said, "The second phase of the idle lands fees will be launched in Makkah, Jeddah and Dammam metropolis due to the market need to pump more developed residential lands. This helps achieve a balance between real estate supply and demand, and serves those wishing to own their first homes.”
