Salwa new port

Prince Saud bin Nayef Al Saud, the governor of Eastern Province, announced today the launch of trial operations at the new Salwa port’s passenger section, according to a statement by the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA).

The new port, which links Saudi Arabia and Qatar, will help boost passenger traffic and enhance the trade between both countries, Prince Al Saud said.

For his part, Suhail Abanmi, ZATCA Governor, indicated that the new Salwa port is in line with Vision 2030, which aims to transform the Kingdom into a global logistics destination, while leveraging on its strategic geographic location.

He added that several strategic partnerships with public and private entities have been signed to develop and operate ports to strengthen the Kingdom’s economy.
