Ministry of Industry issues 52 mining licenses in August

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources issued 52 new mining licenses in August, according to the National Industrial Information Center data.
These new licenses include 21 exploration licenses, 18 licenses for building materials quarries and five surplus ore licenses, the data showed.
Accordingly, the total number of effective mining licenses in the sector reached 2,159, led by the building materials quarries at 1,367 licenses and exploration at 558 licenses.
Riyadh dominated the largest number of effective mining licenses at 511, followed by Makkah (399), Eastern Province (356) and Madinah (239).
