Jeddah Islamic Port
Saudi Arabia’s merchandise imports rose by 25% year-on-year (YoY) in Q3 2022 to SAR 181.1 billion, according to data issued by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).
On a quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) basis, imports rose by SAR 8.28 billion, or 5%, in the three-month period.

The increase in the Kingdom’s Q3 2022 imports was driven by a 106% YoY hike, amounting to SAR 9.13 billion, in its metal products. Imports of machinery and mechanical appliances; electrical equipment and parts thereof also rose YoY by SAR 5.92 billion, or 21%, as shown in the table below:
