Internet users in Saudi Arabia rise to 94.3% in 2022

The number of Internet users above the age of 15 in Saudi Arabia rose to 94.3% in 2022, compared to 93% in 2021, a recent survey by General Authority for Statistics showed.

 

The Households and Individuals’ Information and Communications Technology Access and Usage Survey 2022 showed that internet use by men hit 95% in 2022 and stood at 93.3% for women.

 

Saudis accounted for 93.6% of total Internet use, while non-Saudis represented 95.2%.

 

The survey also showed that 97.7% of individuals own a mobile phone, while the percentage of users reached about 98.2%.

 

The percentage of households that have access to the Internet reached 96.5% in 2022. The percentage of households that have access to the Internet in Saudi Arabia is similar across all provinces, with Jazan and Madinah coming in at the low levels. Riyadh and the Eastern Province topped the list with a rate of 98.4%

 

At least 57.4% households have a computer, the survey noted. Computer users above 15 years stood at 49.3%. Saudis represented 55.1% and non-Saudis 40.8%.
