HRSD Ministry to start job localization in Madinah, Jazan

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) will start localizing many professions and activities at certain ratios in Madinah and Jazan starting July 8.

 

The localization ratios of restaurant activities in Madinah will reach 40%. It will include restaurants with service, banquet kitchens, fast-food stores and juice shops. The café activity will be 50% localized, including serving drinks in cafes and ice cream stores.


The wholesale outlets for food and beverages will be also 50% localized, with cleaning workers, as well as loading and unloading operators excluded provided that their percentage of total workers does not exceed 20%.

 

The ministry added that the activities excluded from localization in the restaurants and cafes activities in Madinah are cafeterias, food preparation and catering contractors, catering contractors, cafeterias in factories, offices, hospitals and schools, as well as restaurants and cafes in hotels, apartments and hotel villas.

 

In Jazan, localization will cover 70% of workers at the service outlets for the activity of advertising agencies in outlets, in addition to photography services outlets as well as repair and maintenance services of laptop and computers. Cleaning workers, as well as loading and unloading operators are excluded from localization. 

 

Further, the ministry will start limiting a number of occupations to Saudis, such as sea attendant, ticket clerk, accounts clerk, accounts assistant, financial clerk, marketing specialist, seller, accounting cashier, and purchasing representative.
