Saudi Arabia received nearly 17.5 million international tourists during the first seven months of 2024, according to a report by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in September 2024.
Saudi Arabia continued to lead the G20 countries in international tourist arrivals and international tourism revenues.
The Kingdom reported a 73% increase in the number of international tourists in the first seven months of 2024 compared with the same period of 2019.
Meanwhile, international tourism revenues surged by 207% in the seven-month period.
In 2023, Saudi Arabia saw 56% growth in the number of international tourists to 27.4 million compared to 2019. Thus, the Kingdom led the UN Tourism World Tourism Barometer for 2023.
In the balance of payments, travel recorded a historic surplus of SAR 48 billion in 2023, an increase of 38% compared with a year earlier.
