Saudi Arabia received nearly 17.5 million international tourists in the first seven months of 2024, marking a 10% year-on-year (YoY) increase, according to the Ministry of Tourism.
This figure was recently announced by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), with Saudi Arabia leading the G20 countries in terms of growth in both the number of international tourists and international tourism revenues.
Compared to the same period in 2019, the number of tourists jumped 73%.
The Ministry of Tourism reported that 4.2 million international tourists visited Saudi Arabia for leisure and holidays in the first seven months of 2024, representing a 25% YoY hike, and a surge of 656% compared to the same period in 2019.
Saudi Arabia achieved its target of attracting 100 million tourists in 2023, seven years ahead of schedule.
