The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) announced a six-month grace period to rectify the status of absent domestic workers, starting from May 11, 2025.

In a statement issued today, May 11, the ministry explained that the initiative aims to provide an opportunity for domestic workers and employers to correct the status of workers reported as absent from work.

This will be done through an automated process on Musaned platform, allowing new employers to regularize the status of such workers by completing the required procedures online.

The initiative is expected to contribute to improving the work environment and ensuring the rights of all parties involved.

The ministry further clarified that this initiative is part of its ongoing efforts to regulate the labor market. It enables domestic workers—against whom absence reports were previously filed and who remain in the Kingdom without valid status—to rectify their situation by transferring their services to new employers, following the completion of legal procedures.

The procedures will be carried out exclusively through Musaned platform and that the initiative does not apply to domestic workers who were reported absent after the date of the announcement.
