The Expenditure and Projects Efficiency Authority (EXPRO) prioritized the localization of jobs in the facility management sector by localizing operations and maintenance (O&M) contracts among public entities through employing more than 200,000 Saudis.

This came in collaboration with several government bodies, the authority said in a statement to celebrate the Gold Award from the Global Facility Management (Global FM) in recognition of its achievements.

EXPRO also highlighted its efforts in capacity building through the introduction of training and development programs, with over 4,500 beneficiaries since 2021.

These efforts are further reinforced through promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development through the BUNA Knowledge Center, being part of the initiatives undertaken by the Committee for the Localization of O&M Contracts in Public Entities.

According to Argaam data, in December 2024, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development launched the second edition of its guide for localizing O&M contracts in public entities.

Among the updates to the new guidlines was an increase in the targeted localization rates for senior management positions from 50% to 100%. Localization targets for engineering and specialized roles were also raised from 30% to 40%, while supervisory roles require 100% localization.
