The National Water Company (NWC) has begun implementing 19 water and wastewater projects in Jazan, the Southern Sector. These projects include the installation of water and sewage networks extending over 1,203 kilometers, at a total cost exceeding SAR 1.5 billion.
The projects are in line with the company's efforts to expand service coverage for its customers and support its strategic plans to develop infrastructure in the water and environmental services sectors.
A total of 9 water projects have been launched in Jazan, covering several districts in the city and other governorates, including Damad, Baish, Sabya, and Abu Arish. The projects involve water networks extending over 397 kilometers, in addition to the construction of two operational reservoirs with a total capacity of 15,000 cubic meters, and the development of pumping stations with a combined design capacity exceeding 60,000 cubic meters per day.
The company also started the execution of 10 wastewater projects in Jazan, which will serve various districts in the city and governorates such as Farasan, Ahad Al Masarihah, Samtah, and Sabya, as well as centers including Al-Hakamiyah, Al-Khadhra, and Al-Muwassam. They involve sewage networks totaling over 806 kilometers, in addition to treatment plants in Jazan, Al-Khadhra, and Al-Muwassam, with a total design capacity of 24,000 cubic meters per day.
