The Council of Economic and Development Affairs (CEDA) held a virtual meeting to review the July 2025 economic report, presented by the Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP).

The report featured a detailed analysis of the latest global economic developments and forecasts, an assessment of key challenges and risks, a review of the Kingdom’s economic performance, and projections for the second half of 2025 and into 2026.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the report also highlighted significant progress in the implementation of economic diversification policies under Saudi Vision 2030, as reflected in the Kingdom’s economic growth for the fourth consecutive quarter.

This momentum was driven by the strength of non-oil sectors and an increase in the purchasing managers’ index (PMI) to its highest level in three months.

CEDA also reviewed the Q1 2025 performance report of the Vision 2030 Realization Programs and national strategies, submitted by the Strategic Management Office (SMO).

The report evaluated the execution of key programs, the degree of progress toward strategic objectives, and the status of national and sectoral strategies. It also outlined major achievements and ongoing efforts, reinforcing sustained progress across Vision 2030’s three pillars: A Vibrant Society, A Thriving Economy, and An Ambitious Nation.

Additionally, the council reviewed the Q1 2025 performance report of public sector entities, submitted by the National Center for Performance Measurement (Adaa). The report assessed efforts to support and empower ministries and government bodies in meeting their targets and highlighted notable improvements in performance indicators. It also provided a forward-looking analysis of national and sectoral strategies.

As part of its oversight responsibilities, the council examined the Project Management Office’s Q2 2025 follow-up report, which tracked the implementation status of decisions and recommendations previously issued by CEDA. The report offered detailed insights into deliverables, implementation progress across participating entities, and related performance statistics.

The meeting also covered several procedural agenda items, including organizational arrangements for the events committee, the updated organizational structure and guide for the MEP. and the development strategy for the Aseer Region.

Furthermore, CEDA reviewed a report from the committee for streamlining and accelerating capital project launches, the quarterly executive summary of GDP and national accounts, and summaries of the monthly consumer price index (CPI) and Wholesale Price Index (WPI) reports.

At the conclusion of the session, the council issued the necessary decisions and recommendations on all reviewed topics.
