The delay to the recently announced date is due to the company's plan to achieve maximum automation by adding robots to be used in the final stages of packaging to save labor costs.

The cost of the robots added to the project amounted to SAR 270,000, the company said. In August 2022, Wafrah signed a contract with GEA Food Solutions to manufacture and supply highly automated lines for processing and packaging frozen and cooked meats, according to data available with Argaam.

In December 2023, the company started the trial operations of the production lines.
