The General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI), in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and the National Center for Privatization (NCP), announced the launch of the expression of interest (EoI) and qualification phase for the privatization of the military uniform and equipment factory in Riyadh and Al-Kharj.
The privatization will be carried out through a purchase agreement, under which full ownership of the factory will be transferred from the GAMI to the private sector.
The Cabinet recently approved the plant privatization.
The transfer of ownership will be subject to compliance with military industry regulations and licensing requirements issued by GAMI.
According to an official statement, the privatization will help preserve and enhance the factory’s production capacity in military and civilian uniform and equipment, while enabling the development of new business opportunities, including expansion into business-to-business markets and export opportunities.
The process will also support the smooth transition of operations, workforce, and supply chains to private ownership.
The step underscores the Kingdom’s commitment to building a competitive, sustainable, and innovative defense industry ecosystem, while strengthening the national industrial base. It also opens new opportunities for the private sector in strategic industries, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
GAMI, in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and NCP, invited interested investors to visit the NCP website, noting that the deadline for submitting applications is Oct. 16, 2025.
