Al Sagr Insurance names Dalal Burhan as CEO

Al Sagr Cooperative Insurance Co.'s board of directors approved on Sept. 24 appointing Dalal Burhan as CEO, according to a Tadawul statement.

The appointment became effective upon obtaining the no-objection from the Insurance Authority (IA), received today, Oct. 23.

Burhan brings over 16 years of professional experience in the insurance sector, along with distinguished academic and professional qualifications. She holds the highest qualification, ACII, from the Chartered Insurance Institute in London and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from King Saud University, in addition to several specialized professional certifications in insurance and risk management.

Also, Burhan has actively participated in several specialized committees, including membership in committees affiliated with the IA and the Financial Committee of the Chamber of Commerce in Eastern Province, reflecting her contribution to the insurance sector.

Since joining Al Sagr Insurance, Burhan has held the position of Chief Technical Officer before being assigned the duties of Acting Chief Executive Officer for six months, which culminated in her official appointment as CEO, in addition to other managerial roles within the insurance sector in Saudi Arabia.

She is the first Saudi woman to hold the position of CEO in an insurance company in Saudi Arabia.
