Government healthcare coverage reached 56.1%, including 47.6% for men and 72.5% for women


The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) reported that 100% of Saudi nationals got basic healthcare coverage in 2025, while the rate for all residents reached 96.2%.

 

The 2025 National Health and Women and Child Health Surveys showed that 95.7% of adults (15+) received basic healthcare coverage through government programs or private insurance, with expatriate coverage at 91.9%.

Private health insurance covered 36.9%, while those paying cash or by credit card accounted for 63.1%.

The survey found that 82.3% of those aged 15–19 were covered by government healthcare, while 45.1% of those aged 40–44 had private insurance.

Adults (15 years and older) made an average of three visits to a healthcare provider in the past 12 months. The average number of visits by Saudis and non-Saudis was 3.4 and about 2.4, respectively.
