Saudi Arabia’s total crude oil production amounted to nearly 3.28 billion barrels in 2024, down 7% compared with 2023.

 

The Kingdom's 2024 oil production marked a 14-year low, according to the Oil and Gas Statistics issued by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).

Data indicated that Saudi Arabia’s crude oil exports declined by 9% to 2.21 billion barrels last year, compared with 2.43 billion barrels in 2023, marking the lowest level in 14 years.

In addition, the Kingdom’s crude oil consumption reached 166.5 million barrels in 2024, down 3.5% from 172.6 million barrels in 2023.

Addressing domestic production of refined products, the bulletin’s results showed that output volumes of gas oil/diesel rose to 407.8 million barrels in 2024, marking a 2% annual growth. Meanwhile, gasoline production increased by 6% to 238.1 million barrels.

Saudi Arabia’s exports of gas oil/diesel accounted for the largest share of fuel exports at 209.6 million barrels, followed by gasoline exports at 102.7 million barrels.

Saudi consumption of gas oil/diesel climbed by about 1% in 2024 to 224.1 million barrels. However, during the same year, gasoline consumption rose by approximately 1.2% to 188.2 million barrels.
