Saudi individuals buy SAR 727M in TASI stocks last week

Saudi individual investors were net buyers of SAR 726.7 million worth of stocks in the Main Market (TASI) in the week ended Dec. 18, according to recent data issued by Tadawul.

Retail investors and high-net-worth investors were net buyers of shares worth SAR 345.3 million and SAR 283.5 million, respectively. Individual professional investors purchased shares close to SAR 159 million in value.

Retail investors accounted for 20.72% of buy orders and 18.87% of overall sell trades during the week.

On the other hand, qualified foreign investors (QFIs) were net sellers of nearly SAR 85.6 million worth of stocks.

For the same week, QFIs accounted for about 44.69% and 45.15% of buy orders and sell trades, respectively.

FTSE Russell implemented its changes in the Saudi market during the week, based on its quarterly periodic index review.

Saudi institutions were net sellers of roughly SAR 629.4 million during the Dec. 18-ended week. This included SAR 344 million in net sells by Saudi corporates, SAR 155.4 million in net sells by investment funds and SAR 84.4 million by government entities. DPMs were net sellers of shares worth about SAR 45.6 million.
