Qiddiya will inaugurate its first asset, Six Flags Qiddiya on Dec. 31, said Abdullah Aldawood, Managing Director of Qiddiya Investment Co. (QIC).

The park will be the first Six Flags theme park outside North America and the largest amusement facility in the Middle East, Aldawood said, adding that the park will set global records with five rides.

According to the top executive, all works on Six Flags have been fully completed, while more than 95% of the Aquarabia water park has been finalized.

He highlighted that this opening will mark the first in a series of openings for 70 assets, which will be announced successively as part of the city’s phased operational rollout, through the sequential launch of new assets.

Aldawood also stressed the progress of work on Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium, in preparation for the World Cup, as well as in the construction of 20 hotels scheduled to open in the coming period.

He stated that the first phase of infrastructure works has been fully completed, including roads, electricity, telecommunications, and emergency services, adding that the second phase has begun, involving the development of an internal road network exceeding 100 kilometers in length, the construction of 13 power substations, and the expansion of the drinking water system.
