Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef said that, with the support of the Crown Prince, Riyadh has been allocated new land covering a total area of 20 million square meters, which is currently being developed, noting that Riyadh currently does not have industrial land.

This represents a new gain, said the minister, highlighting that the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) has developed around 236 million square meters of industrial land and continues to do so.

The minister also stated that, in the context of supporting industrial investment, the ministry will soon launch a “build-to-suit factories” initiative, whereby factories will be built in partnership with investors as dedicated facilities and leased to them, thus helping ease the financial burden on investors.

This came during the minister’s remarks at a session held as part of the activities of the Eighth Riyadh Industrial Council.
