Saudi Arabia's average annual inflation rose to 2% in 2025, up from a year earlier, according to data from the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).

 

The annual average of the consumer price index (CPI) increased to 103.57 points last year from 101.50 points in 2024.

GASTAT attributed the increase in annual inflation to a 6.1% rise in the prices of housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels, as well as a 1.1% increase in food and beverage prices, reflecting their greater relative importance.

 

The increase in housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuel prices was driven by an 8.2% rise in actual rents paid by tenants for primary residences.

 

In contrast, the furniture, household appliances and routine home maintenance category fell by 0.8%, while information and communication prices declined by 0.7%.
