The world’s largest cryptocurrency by market value remains on track to post a fifth straight monthly decline


Cryptocurrencies trimmed gains in Wednesday trading after US President Donald Trump delivered his State of the Union address to Congress, as markets awaited the next round of talks between Washington and Tehran in Geneva.

 

Bitcoin rose 0.75% to $64,950 at 10:49 a.m. Mecca time, paring earlier advances after jumping 3.52% ahead of Trump’s speech.

 

The world’s largest cryptocurrency by market value remains on track to post a fifth straight monthly decline, its longest losing streak since 2018.

 

Ethereum gained about 1.78% to $1,890.58, while XRP rose 0.84% to $1.3637 and Dogecoin added 0.73% to $0.095.
