Data tracking tanker movements showed a significant rise in Iranian oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz, surpassing levels recorded before the outbreak of the recent conflict on Feb. 28, supported by continued strong demand from China.

According to data from shipment-tracking firm Kpler, Iran’s daily exports averaged around 2.1 million barrels over the six days ending March 9, exceeding the two-million-barrel mark recorded in February, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Since the start of the war, about 15 vessels have transited the Strait, mostly from the so-called shadow fleet, transporting Iranian oil to China and India. On February 19, the tankers Skywave and Cume each loaded two million barrels of Iranian crude before passing through the strait last week en route to China.
