Oil prices declined today, June 9, after Iran and Israel announced a halt to mutual attacks in response to a request from US President Donald Trump, although both sides warned that military operations could resume at any time.

 

Prices had jumped by 5% in the previous session, driven by Israeli attacks on Iran and Lebanon, Reuters reported.

According to Customs data released today, China's crude oil imports in May fell to 33.08 million tons, or 7.79 million barrels per day—the lowest level since February 2018.

 

The US crude oil inventory report from the American Petroleum Institute is expected later today, and the official data by the US Energy Information Administration on June 10.
