Al-Jasser inaugurates Aldrees, eXtra logistics centers at Dammam port

Saudi Transport and Logistics Services Minister Saleh Al-Jasser inaugurated two new logistics centers operated by Aldrees Petroleum and Transport Services Co. and United Electronics Co. (eXtra) at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, the Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) said.

In separate statements, MAWANI said the Aldrees logistics center was developed with investments of SAR 40 million and spans 146,400 square meters.

The project is aimed at enhancing logistics services at King Abdulaziz Port, increasing operational capacity and improving supply chain efficiency, in line with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy to position Saudi Arabia as a global logistics hub.

Al-Jasser said the project would strengthen the port's operational capabilities and support growing global trade flows.

Aldrees Vice Chairman Abdulmohsen Aldrees said the facility forms part of the company's expansion plans and will provide advanced storage and logistics services for the maritime and logistics sectors. He added that the center would support cargo handling operations at the port and enable the company to serve a larger customer base more efficiently.

MAWANI also announced the inauguration of eXtra's new logistics center, developed with investments of SAR 30 million and covering more than 32,000 square meters.

The authority said the project supports efforts to strengthen logistics infrastructure at Saudi ports and advance the goals of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy.

eXtra Chief Executive Officer Ali Mansour said the center is part of the company's strategy to enhance operational capabilities and supply chain efficiency through advanced storage facilities located near the port.

He said the project would increase the company's storage capacity by 30%, helping meet growing demand and support future expansion plans, while improving operational efficiency and reducing transportation and handling costs.

Mansour added that the facility would enable eXtra to serve a larger number of brands by providing storage and handling capacity for a wide range of products, enhancing the company's operational flexibility and readiness.
