Operating revenue index rises 11.4% in May

According to the bulletin, the annual growth was driven by a 9.6% rise in manufacturing activities and a 38.7% increase in mining and quarrying activities. It was also backed by the 3.6% YoY growth in wholesale, retail trade and repair of vehicles. In addition, the construction, and financial & insurance activities by 2.5% and 12.9% YoY, respectively.
The mining & quarrying activities recorded the highest annual growth rate at 38.7%, followed by financial and insurance activities (12.9%), as well as manufacturing (9.6%). Transportation & storage activities also rose by 9.5% YoY.

The employee compensation index rose 9.8% YoY, supported by a 114% increase in manufacturing, construction (7.6%), wholesale and retail trade and vehicle repair (9.4%) and mining and quarrying (5%).
In terms of the annual growth rates, the accommodation and food services activities topped the list, rising 17.7%. Other service activities followed with 14.8% growth, then transportation & storage (13.6%), and financial activities and insurance (12.8%).
