Almarai approves 2026-2031 strategy

Almarai Co.’s board of directors approved the company’s strategy for 2026-2031.

In a statement to Tadawul today, Oct. 6, the company said it is entering a new phase focused on value realization via its investments through disciplined execution and capital allocation.

The strategy centers on four priorities: enhancing business resilience and food supply chains, improving efficiency through higher productivity, strengthening profitability through disciplined growth, and increasing cash flow generation to support sustainable shareholder value.

The strategy is built around several key pillars, including accelerating growth in Almarai’s core businesses and selectively expanding into promising food categories.

It also focuses on accelerating the development of high-potential channels, such as foodservice and e-commerce, while strengthening the company’s position in priority markets and selectively pursuing new opportunities.

Almarai said the strategy builds on its market leadership, trusted brands, operational excellence, and differentiated capabilities, with a focus on capitalizing on attractive growth opportunities and creating sustainable long-term value for shareholders and stakeholders.

The company added that the strategy aims to broaden consumer choices, strengthen local manufacturing, and contribute to Saudi Arabia’s national objectives, including food security and economic diversification.

Almarai noted that the strategy is not expected to have a material financial impact at this stage.

The company said it will announce any material developments in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

According to data available with Argaam, Almarai’s board approved the five-year strategic plan in March 2024, covering the period through December 2028.

The plan included an investment program of more than SAR 18 billion, targeting the poultry business, core categories such as dairy, juices, and bakery products, as well as new food categories.

It also focused on developing the supply chain, sales, technology, and innovation.

In its 2025 board report, Almarai said it was transitioning from a “heavy investment phase” to a “value realization phase” under a strategy extending from 2026 onward.

The strategy is built around five key pillars: maximizing returns from strategic assets, advancing health-focused innovation, accelerating digital transformation, pursuing targeted geographic expansion, and achieving net-zero emissions.
