CICT extends MVNO licensing deadline to July 7

Saudi Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) extended the deadline for firms willing to obtain a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) license under host operator Zain to July 7 (3:00 PM), rather than June 2, 2014.

In April, CITC invited interested telecom firms to apply for MVNO licenses under Zain.

CITC board had awarded MVNO licenses to:

  1. Virgin Mobile Consortium with Saudi Telecom Company (STC).
  2. Jawraa Consortium with Mobily.
