The Council of Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CSC) urged the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA), the kingdom’s central bank, to reduce fees charged on using point-of-sale transaction terminals by about 60 percent, Saudi-based Okaz newspaper reported.

The council added that keeping the current fees would raise food prices higher for consumers.
