Nearly 55,400 Saudi nationals chose not to work during the second half of 2015, a recent survey by the Central Department of Statistics & Information (CDSI) showed.

Saudi nationals between the ages of 25 and 29 accounted for 20 percent, or 11,000 of those unwilling to work.

Meanwhile, as many as 10,700 jobless nationals were aged between 30 and 34.

A total of 8.4 million Saudis over the age of 15 are out of the labor market, including 3.9 million housewives and 3.4 million nationals enrolled in study or training programs, the survey added.
