Alumina Refinery

Overview

Building alumina refinery in Ras Al Khair city in Eastern Province, to produce 1.8 mn tpa of alumina, which will in turn be processed in the smelter to produce 740k tpa of aluminium.

That refinery is consider the second phase of "Maaden" and "Alcoa" joint venture that is considered the Middle East’s first fully integrated aluminum smelter and food-grade can-sheet rolling mill. The total investment for the whole project is SAR 40.5bn.

  • The experimental production of the refinery started during the year 2014.
