US stocks rise, post weekly gains
US equities ended higher on Friday as investor concerns over trade tensions with China and potential risks in regional banks eased.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.52% (238 points) to close at 46,190, marking a 1.56% weekly gain.
The S&P 500 rose 0.53% (34 points) to 6,664, up 1.70% for the week, while the Nasdaq Composite added 0.52% (117 points) to 22,679, gaining 2.14% weekly.
In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 slipped 0.95% to 566, trimming weekly gains to 0.37%.
Major indices fell, including the FTSE 100 (-0.86%), DAX (-1.82%), and CAC 40 (-0.18%).
Japan’s Nikkei 225 declined 1.45% to 47,582, posting a 1% weekly loss, while the broader Topix index fell 1% to 3,170.
In commodities, Brent crude for December delivery rose 0.38% to $61.29 a barrel, and WTI crude for November added 0.14% to $57.54.
Meanwhile, gold futures for December delivery fell 2.12% to $4,213.30 per ounce but still logged a 5.32% weekly gain.
