Wall Street ends lower for second session

The broader S&P 500 lost 0.17%, or 12 points, to 7,670, while the Nasdaq Composite edged down 0.10%, or 22 points, to 26,797.

The UK’s FTSE 100 fell 0.45% to 10,636, while France’s CAC 40 dropped 0.53% to 8,035. Germany’s DAX edged up 0.10% to 25,399.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 fell 0.60% to 65,481, while the broader TOPIX dropped 1.70% to 4,041.
Brent crude futures for November delivery fell 2.56%, or $2.69, to $102.59/bbl.
US WTI crude futures for November delivery dropped 3.48%, or $3.22, to $89.38/bbl.
Gold futures for December delivery rose 0.27%, or $11.30, to $4,179.70/oz.
Market drivers
Rising Treasury yields weighed on Wall Street as investors awaited inflation and labor market data due this week for clues on the interest-rate outlook. Oil prices also remained elevated despite Tuesday’s decline.
