It aims expand gas utilization instead of liquid fuels to achieve Liquid Fuel Displacement Program’s objectives in light of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.

According to Argaam data, the Ministry of Energy, in cooperation with Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON), announced in October 2021, a public tender for a license to establish, own, and operate a dry gas network in the Third Industrial City in Dammam.
