Ministry of Industry says local food sector investments reach SAR 94 bln

Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources stated that investments in the local food industry amount to more than SAR 94 billion, representing 7% of the industry sector's total investments, Al Eqtisadiah newspaper reported.

 

It added that the foodstuff plants dominate 11.35% of the Kingdom's total number of plants that amounted to 1,294 until August 2022, compared with 1,201 a year earlier.

 

Meanwhile, a total of 163 industrial licenses were issued during the first eight months of 2022, compared with 287 a year before.
