Saudi private-sector employees rise to 2.3M in 3 years: HRSD Minister

Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Ahmed Al-Rajhi

Minister of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) Ahmed Al-Rajhi said the number of Saudi private-sector employees covered by social security insurance advanced to 2.3 million during the past three years.

During the Real Estate Future Forum held today, Jan. 22, the minister stated that the number of Saudi first-time employees reached 361,000 in 2023. This exceeded the 200,000 tally of college graduates in the Kingdom, meaning the Saudi economy has begun to create jobs.

Regarding qualitative jobs, Al-Rajhi indicated that the number of private-sector engineers grew from 40,000 to 70,000 currently. Further, the number of private-sector accountants has increased from 42,000 to 100,000 at present.

As for the real estate sector, the minister pointed out that, prior to July 2021, the localization of real estate professions and activities was not mandated, with the number of Saudi employees not exceeding 12,000.

"Two years after implementing the Saudization decision, we have more than 26,000 nationals working in the real estate sector, an increase of 116%. They are distributed among 12 different industry-related professions, be it brokerage, sustainable construction, or arbitration," he added.
