The US natural gas inventories decreased by 174 billion cubic feet (Bcf) during the week ended Jan. 31, surpassing expectations of a 170-Bcf decline.
Total natural gas reserves amounted to 2.397 trillion cubic feet, falling by 8% (about 208 Bcf), compared to the same period last year, data from the US Energy Information Administration showed today, Feb. 6.
The current inventories are 4.4% (almost 111 Bcf) lower, exceeding the five-year (2020-2024) average of 2.508 trillion cubic feet.
