Trump claims credit for ending 6 wars, destroying Iran nuclear facilities

US President Donald Trump claimed he was the one who ended “six wars in six months” since taking post for the second term as of January 2025.

Taking to Truth Social on Monday, the US leader said this included a possible "nuclear disaster" by Iran’s facilities, and the Hamas-Israel ongoing ceasefire talks that are still in limbo.

He wrote, “We will only see the return of the remaining hostages when Hamas is confronted and destroyed!!!”

“The sooner this takes place, the better the chances of success will be. Remember, I was the one who negotiated and got hundreds of hostages freed and released into Israel (and America!). I was the one who ended six wars, in just six months.”

Trump did not name the wars he claimed credit for mediating. However, most recently, he brokered a peace deal between Armenia and Azerbaijan, ending the decades long Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

In June, Trump intervened in the Iran-Israel conflict by ordering US strikes on three key Iranian nuclear facilities. The strikes brought the Middle East to the brink of a new regional war. However, after negotiations and many social media posts, Trump announced both Iran and Israel had agreed to a ceasefire.

Trump’s latest Truth Social post came a few hours before he was due to host Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House, following his summit with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska that resulted in the US president dropping a demand for a ceasefire and calling instead for a permanent peace deal.

This is not the first time Trump has claimed to have mediated six wars. He did so last month, although he did not officially declare an imminent end to the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

At the time, PolitiFact, a website specializing in fact-checking political statements, reported that Trump was referring to the conflicts between Israel and Iran, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, Cambodia and Thailand, India and Pakistan, Serbia and Kosovo, and Egypt and Ethiopia.

The website quoted White House Spokesperson Anna Kelly as saying that Trump had a direct role in these disputes, exploiting tools ranging from America's military power to our superior consumer market.

While no direct conflicts broke out between Serbia and Kosovo, or Egypt and Ethiopia, there were high-level political and economic tensions and disputes. However, there is no evidence that any of these countries reached an agreement to end their disputes.
