US markets on public holiday today

US markets closed today, Feb. 15, in observance of Presidents’ Day and will resume normal trading tomorrow.

 

Wall Street posted losses last week, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average declining 1.22%, the S&P 500 losing around 1.4%, and the Nasdaq Composite falling 2.1%.

 

Attention this week turns to remarks from Federal Reserve officials for clues on the outlook for monetary policy, after data released last week showed easing inflationary pressures in the world’s largest economy.
