Bank branches in Saudi Arabia rise to 1,929 in H1 2026

The number of bank branches operating in Saudi Arabia rose to 1,929 during H1 2026, compared to 1,910 by the end of 2025.
The number of bank branches thus continued to rise during the six-month period, reaching its peak since 2021.
The number of bank branches in Saudi Arabia rose steadily between 2006 and 2017, from 1,289 to a peak of 2,076 in 2019. It then declined gradually between 2018 and 2023 before rebounding in 2024, 2025 and H1 2026.

Saudi National Bank (SNB) and Riyad Bank recorded the largest branch expansion in H1 2026, adding eight branches each. In contrast, Arab National Bank (ANB) recorded the steepest decline, closing three branches and bringing its network down to 118.
Al Rajhi Bank remained the largest branch operator in the Kingdom with 513 branches, followed by SNB with 489 and Riyad Bank with 232.
The top three banks in terms of number of branches accounted for about 64% of total bank branches operating in the Kingdom during that period, with 1,234 branches.
