Chief executive of the National Industrialization Co. (Tasnee) expected that production at the ilmenite processing plant in Jazan Industrial City would start within months and could provide 500 job opportunities.

The plant will have initial capacity of 500,000 tons of titanium slag annually which is designed to be expanded to 1 million tons a year, CEO Saleh al-Nozha said in remarks published in al-Youm newspaper.

The plant is an affiliate of Cristal Global Co, 66 percent owned by Tasnee and 33 percent owned by Gulf Investment Corporation, a firm equally owned by the 6 states of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
