Saudi Arabia’s Gulf Farabi Petrochemical runs LAB units at full rates

20/01/2015 ICIS

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Saudi Arabia's Farabi Petrochemical Co is currently running its linear alkylbenzene (LAB) units in Al-Jubail at full rates following a shutdown at one of its units, a company source said on Tuesday.

The source said the producer has two units with a total nameplate capacity of 140,000 tonne/year but it is able to produce up to 200,000 tonnes/year.

A 10-day maintenance was completed at one of its units on 19 January, the source said, but no shutdown date is known for the second unit.

The producer’s feedstock normal-paraffin plant with a capacity of 120,000 tonne/year is also running at full rates and no maintenance is planned yet.
