Saudi Arabia’s ministry of municipal and rural affairs (MOMRA) has ordered all municipalities and governorates to apply new fees on billboard advertisements, Al-Madinah newspaper reported on Saturday.
Illuminated and non-illuminated signs for commercial stores will be charged SAR 200 in Riyadh, Jeddah, Makkah, Al-Madina and Eastern province. A fee of SAR 175 will be applicable in other municipalities, along with a fee of SAR 150 in small villages and towns.
Ads located on buses inside cities will cost SAR 400 per square meter in Riyadh, Jeddah, Makkah, Al-Madinah, and Eastern province. In other municipalities and small villages, it will cost between SAR 350 and SAR 250.
In August, the kingdom’s cabinet approved raising fees on municipal services and billboards, as part of efforts aimed at shoring up non-oil revenues.
