The utility services provider’s profits, before Mudaraba coupon deductions, slipped to SAR 11.6 billion in 9M 2025, from SAR 12.1 billion last year.
The profit decline was due to higher operations and maintenance costs reflecting growing business and operating assets, as well as an increase in provision for electricity subscriber’s receivables.
The company also reported higher net financing charges reflecting increased financing to fund SEC’s expanding capital expenditure and enhancing its business growth. Other income fell due to booking of a non-recurring item from a one-off settlement with a supplier in the corresponding period of the previous year.
This was partially offset by an increases in required revenue recognized during the current period, due to a rise in the grid's regulated asset base, as well as an increase in electricity production revenue and continued growth in demand.
In Q3 2025, SEC reported a 35% fall in net profit to SAR 3.05 billion, compared to SAR 4.7 billion in Q3 2024 .
