TASI falls more than 200 pts to below 11,097, turnover at SAR 6.8B
Saudi Arabia’s benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) closed more than 200 points, or 1.8%, lower at 11,097 points today, April 9.
Total turnover reached nearly SAR 6.8 billion.
The market’s decline coincides with a drop in oil prices, with Brent crude falling below $60 a barrel as China escalated its trade war by imposing 84% tariffs on all US goods. The US tariffs went into effect today.
Market Index
Al Rajhi Bank shares fell by 2% to SAR 94.60.
Saudi Aramco closed at SAR 25.35 (-0.2%), with trading volume reaching approximately 13 million shares valued at more than SAR 320 million.
ACWA Power, Bank Albilad, BSF, Sulaiman Al Habib, Jabal Omar, and Elm declined between 3% and 6%.
Americana recorded its lowest close since listing at SAR 1.79 (-6%), with more than 100 million shares changing hands.
Al Othaim closed at SAR 9.33 (-3%) after going ex-dividend.
Meanwhile, Advanced rose 1% to SAR 28.90 after announcing its Q1 2025 financial results.
