TASI closes slightly lower, SABIC leads petchem stocks rise
Saudi Arabia’s benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell 0.1%, or 11 points, to close at 10,867 points today, Aug. 21.
Total turnover reached nearly SAR 5.2 billion, the highest in two weeks.
Market Index
Saudi Aramco fell by 1% to SAR 23.71.
Electrical Industries, SMC, MBC Group, Masar, Elm, and Riyadh Cables closed down between 2% and 4%.
SAB closed at SAR 30.96 (-4%) after going ex-dividend.
Halwani Bros. led the market decliners, falling 5% to SAR 43.26.

Meanwhile, all listed petrochemical companies recorded gains, led by SABIC, which rose 8% to SAR 61.90, its highest close in four months. Nearly 9 million shares, valued at over SAR 500 million, changed hands.
Advanced, Yansab, SIIG, National Industrialization, Sipchem, Saudi Kayan, Chemanol, and Alujain rose between 2% and 5%.
