TASI falls 0.9% to 10,497 pts, lowest close since October 2023
Saudi Arabia’s benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) closed 0.9%, or 97 points, lower at 10,497 points today, Sept. 8, its weakest finish since October 2023.
Total turnover reached nearly SAR 4.1 billion.
The benchmark opened at 10,593 points, touching a high of 10,608 points and slipping to a low of 10,486 points during the session.
The index has shed more than 1,500 points year to date, down 13% from last year’s close.
Market Index
Saudi Aramco fell 1% to SAR 23.25, its lowest close since 2020. Nearly 12.5 million shares changed hands.
Al Rajhi Bank, ACWA Power, Saudi National Bank, SABIC, Almarai, Riyad Bank, Dar Al Arkan, and Maaden shed between 1% and 3%.
Thimar was the top market decliner, falling 10%. Nearly 2.6 million shares, valued at over SAR 120 million, changed hands.
Al Akaria closed at SAR 16.49 (-6%).

Meanwhile, Lazurde led the market gainers, rising 6% to SAR 13.02.
Obeikan Glass gained 2% to close at SAR 26.90 after announcing a cash dividend for H2 2024.
